Near the city of Montego Bay, your mission team will work at one of several ministry sites. The Jamaica Christian School for the Deaf is located just outside of Montego Bay in the tiny community of Eden.  There 36 deaf children make this their home and school.  Each year the tasks vary, but backed with a powerful vision to change the deaf community your team will work hard laying block, carrying sand, and mixing concrete, leading children's bible school and teaching classes for the deaf.

Since 2004, Misssion Discovery teams have been serving the poor in and around Clarksdale, Mississippi.  There teams help make old things new, repair leaky roofs, rotting proches, building wheelchair ramps and leading a dailey bible school.  "I've never experienced a trip like this!"  Says Jim B a youth leader from Arkansas, "I have taken so many trips to Mexico, not ever considering that there are those who live in desperae conditions close to home."  In partnership with church leaders in Clarksdale Mississippi these 6 day trips are life-changing.

Just minutes from Nashville, TN's Music Row the needy of the inner city need your help. During one week of work you'll serve by building wheel chair ramps, renovate and repair homes and leaving knowing you made a real impact in Summer of 2010!

Last summer Mission Discovery's partnership with the Martha O'Bryan Center put us right in the middle of Nashville's needies neighborhoods.  While other teams worked throughout the inner city building wheelchair ramps for some of Nashvilles neediest residents.

With billions of dollars in damage, what can a group actually do to help in Port au Prince, Haiti? It is a question I asked myself before I departed for Haiti two weeks after the earthquake that occured on January 12, 2010.

Holiday Inn"I'm not a doctor, but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn!" So just overnight your next mission trip group in a Holiday Inn and you should be well prepared for your next summer mission trip, right? While I like Holiday Inn's and actually stayed in the "first built" one in Memphis many years ago, there is no shortcut to preparing a team for a mission experience.

What if, every Sunday your church walked out of the doors and in unison were singing the song you started in the building? That is the perfect description of the church in Haiti right now! I couldn't believe my eyes! I saw it first hand.

“This mission trip to Mexico, justify the cost to the long term benefit for the students?” I sat in my senior pastor’s office not ready to answer his question. A year earlier I’d been to the Dominican Republic on a mission trip. On that mission trip I saw first hand its impact on a group of students from another church and wanted to see the same happen with our senior high youth group.
