This week your team is needed in the small farm community of Westmoreland, Tennessee. Located about 45 minutes northeast of Nashville, you'll stay at beautiful Camp Mission Discovery. This 100 bed camp has swimming, basketball, volleyball and a fishing pond for relaxing after a busy work day.
Westmoreland is a small proud community of 4,000 people 45 minutes north of Nashville, Tennessee. It is a rural town, and residents take pride in their quality of life. But, like so many places in our nation, this community is home to people in real need. Homes, literally coming down around some of the poorer residents, need your team’s service.
Native Americans have the highest rates of poverty, unemployment and disease of any ethnic group in the United States. South Dakota’s Lakota Indian population lives in some of the poorest communities in the US. Rapid City is home to thousands of Lakota Indians who have moved from the Pine Ridge Reservation in search of a better life. Your Mission Discovery short term mission trip team will reach out to many Native American families, but we will not exclude anyone who has a need that we can meet.
