Organizing teams of people to serve others around the world. Learn More
This morning I’m listing to South Africa’s number one pop station in Johannesburg, but from my own kitchen table in Hendersonville, TN. Tuesday I will meet with group leaders from three states in a Mission Discovery training event from a cubicle at the Mission Discovery office. Last week we discovered that people in Canada were having a hard time reaching us by phone because the posted website “800” does not work there. We have teams from Canada? Two years ago Jackie a found out about Mission Discovery Jamaica adult trip and she lives near London, England.
I often think how much easier life has become for so many in the world because of our ability to connect. I know also that evil also takes advantage of this same avenue as the drug trade and human trafficking continues to grow. A friend in Mexico after a video interview asked me not to post the interview on YouTube, because it would draw attention to his work from the Mexico Cartels. Thinking about all the gadges we use to stay connected, I tend often to think of Mrs. Moxy, who suffers from AIDS. She lives at the All Saints Camp, a hospice for the elderly and AIDS patients located in Nassau, Bahamas. Each day from her bedside she is able to affect the world. She is paralyzed from the waist down, has no phone connection or internet service and lives a life in a 16 by 8 foot cottage.
How does she do this?
Any day walk down the palm lined sidewalk by her cottage and you will here the songs of praise, and prayers for the world coming from that little house. Firmly connected to the Creator she begs not for her own life but for God to speak to the hearts of men and women for His sake. Thank you Mrs. Moxy for reminding me of a Devine connection that is mine to impact the world with prayer.
This summer on New Providence Island, Bahamas, Mission Discovery senior high mission trip teams will serve the needs of those residents of All Saints Camp as will as reach deep into the lives of the needy with hands-on work of repair homes and building churches for the needy. Mission Discovery has been serving there since 1992.
