This is not your typical trip to the Bahamas! In the region around the capital city of Nassau, thousands of Haitian refugees have ventured here to make a new start. With no money, no jobs, and no homes, they attempt to build a life. The Bahamian government is unable to provide much help to this growing population, and the need for education and housing is enormous. Mission Discovery short term mission trip teams will help construct churches and daycare facilities, repair homes, and lead children’s bible school in poor Bahamian and Haitian communities.

The town of is nestled between towering boulders and miles of scrub brush. This mountainous setting is home to many needy families, but it is often overlooked for help because of its size and location. Thousands come to Tecate with the hope of finding more opportunities in the US or near the border. Music City USA is a place where hope lives and dies. It's a great place to live, work, and visit, but like all thriving cities, there are people in need. Away from the glitz and glamour of Music Row, 13% of residents live below the poverty line. Nashville's poor are the focus of your week with Mission Discovery. Though a partnership with UCP, Mission Discovery works to build wheelchair ramps for residents earning less than $15,000 annually. For many it's their first shot in a very long time at personal freedom.
