This is not your typical trip to the Bahamas! In the region around the capital city of Nassau, thousands of Haitian refugees have ventured here to make a new start. With no money, no jobs, and no homes, they attempt to build a life. The Bahamian government is unable to provide much help to this growing population, and the need for education and housing is enormous. Mission Discovery short term mission trip teams will help construct churches and daycare facilities, repair homes, and lead children’s bible school in poor Bahamian and Haitian communities.

On the border that separates South Africa from Sawziland is the community of Bulembu. Once a thriving mining town, Bulembu was abandoned in 2000 along with its hospital and 1200 homes. Kevin Ward, director of Teen Challenge Swaziland, purchased the town and has a grand vision: To renovate as many homes as necessary to house 2,000 children orphaned by the AIDS pandemic of Swaziland, teach AIDS awareness, and have a self-sustaining community through the start-up of various cottage industry initiatives.

Kenya, the cradle of humanity, is a country of beauty and diversity with many different cultures, religious affiliations and geographic regions. The city of Mbita lies on the eastern shore of Lake Victoria and will be our base of operation for this project. The area is remote and rustic, but residents here are open to the gospel and ready to experience God’s love. Most of the families in this area have lost loved ones to the AIDS virus. For women and children who have lost husbands and fathers, life’s journey becomes very difficult. Your team will work to build homes for widows and orphans.

Help change your world and theirs! It's a week of service and refreshment for ladies. You've seen Jamaica's beautiful beaches and tourist destinations featured in television commercials. But behind the scenes of the city are communities struggling like never before. 69.2% of people living in Jamaica make their living from service industries like hotels. In the world's new economy, fewer people are vacationing, and so unemployment is rising. With the rise of unemployment come the side effects.

This is no regular college Spring break mission trip. We need you! Mission Discovery takes you to the second poorest country in Central America. There you will serve in one or all of three locations. Daily you'll be a part of a vital construction project. Teams in the past have built homes, laid block for a classroom at a school, delivered Eco-Water Filters to provide pure drinking water, painted a school, help care for disabled children at a nearby orphanage and even lead a sports event at a public school!
