Every Weekday at 11 AM CST on Facebook Live
On every Mission Discovery trip, we begin the morning together in God's word. One speaker is chosen to give the word of the day so that everyone else can meditate on the Scripture. Our hope is that volunteers engage in group discussions throughout the day and in their small groups.
Since the way ministry is being done has shifted, our goal is to serve by creating resources that will help others focus on God throughout the day, and influence family and small group discussion.
Join us every weekday as we explore God's word together. We will have speakers from all over the US and the world. Here is today's Kickstart Devotional.

Hey guys. My name is Tracy Parlin and I have been involved with Mission Discovery now for quite some time. I started out in Reynosa, Mexico, building houses with junior highers. Such fun times. We did that many years. I also have been to McAllen, TX and recently to Puerto Rico. So we love Mission Discovery. I go to Chase Oaks church and we've been involved with them for many many years.
So I'm excited to have this opportunity just to share with you today. The scripture is John 14:27:
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
That verse has always been really special to me and especially in times like this, where there is so much going on and so much uncertainty in the world. And there are good reasons. There are things going on. But what I want to ask ourselves as believers in a world that is really thrown into darkness right now, is we need to be offering that hope the hope that we have within us.
And it's not based on circumstances. You know I think back to Paul when he says I am content in all circumstances: whether wealthy or poor or sickness or health. All of those things. And so right now in a time like this, it's so important for us to be grounded in our faith and to offer hope.
I look and I see things on Facebook and in other places that are just full of negativity and what I really want us to be reminded about is to ground ourselves and the foundation of our faith that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday. He was the same before this virus. He's the same today and He is the same forever. And so remember this, especially in this week coming up towards Easter as we really celebrate one of the most significant times in our faith which is the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The question I want to ask myself and you and everyone who is listening is, what are we doing to offer hope and peace today? What can we do. Whether it's something we say on Facebook or it's something we do in our neighborhoods. No matter where we feel God leading us, what is it that we can do today to offer that hope and peace to others?
