It’s happening! My dream at Mission Discovery is coming true!

A few weeks ago in Lumberton, NC Macon Kimbrough and I were visiting with Ryan Sebastian. Ryan and his family are pictured here to the left.

It was the first time for Macon to meet Ryan. Macon will be leading our Hurricane Matthew relief mission trips there and Ryan is the youth minister at Hyde Park Baptist Church where our teams will sleep and eat while they are working.

“Ryan, tell Macon your story,” I said at the table in Panera.

Ryan unfolded a story that started as a youth on a mission trip to Reynosa, Mexico with Mission Discovery in the 90’s. On that trip, God began a work in Ryan that led to him attending Liberty University, desiring to be a youth minister, and then taking a position at a church after graduation in the poorest county in North Carolina.

Last summer Ryan led his own youth group on a Mission Discovery trip to Nashville’s inner city and this year Mission Discovery teams will serve his community hit hard by floods as a result of Hurricane Matthew.

This was a dream of mine at the start of Mission Discovery…to see our mission trips as an investment in the futures of young men and women for the purposes of Christ.

When my wife Ann and I give to Mission Discovery, we believe we are investing in the futures of Ryans.

Mission Discovery only works with support from those who pray for our work and give to make it happen. Our investment is not only in the lives of those young people and adults who attend mission trips, but also in over 500 children in our HOLD the Children schools in 3 countries who are learning and dreaming of lives used by God!

Thank you for making this possible!
