It’s never too early to start thinking about summer mission trips for junior and senior high schoolers. Fall is here and summer will be here before you know it. Consider joining Mission Discovery as we do some much needed mission work in Rapid City, South Dakota in July of 2015. Here are some of the highlights to expect on this youth missions trip:

  • Bless South Dakota’s Lakota population. One of the best parts of summer mission trips is the opportunity to engage with the local people. The Lakota people have fled to Rapid City, South Dakota to escape the poverty at the Pine Ridge Reservation. You’ll leave with many memories and new friends after you bless the Lakota people with the gift of your time and attention. Read more about the story of the Lakota people here.
  • Enjoy pouring into the lives of the Lakota children. On this short-term mission trip, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in and organize a children’s Bible school. Never underestimate the value of mission work which offers hope to children.
  • Serve the Lakota population in Rapid City by repairing and painting homes. You’ll have a blast and meet new friends while you get your hands dirty. Mission work like this offers a great reminder of the blessings that we have.
  • See what South Dakota has to offer. This short-term mission trip packs in a lot of hard work, but you’ll also spend time exploring the Black Hills on your day off. Haven’t you always wanted to see Mount Rushmore up close? You’ll have your chance on this mission trip.
