A great joy of coordinating mission trips lies in the deep and lasting relationships formed with “sold-out” servants of God. These relationships inspire and motivate me to a greater abandonment in my efforts with Mission Discovery.

On Good Friday, my dear friend Carlos Galaviz passed from this present reality to the greatest of all realities — life in the presence of God! For Carlos he no longer knows the limitations of the human frame, experiencing the totality of Jesus’ sacrifice. This Jesus is the one Carlos served with such passion for the years I was privileged to know and serve alongside him.

“Well done good and faithful servant – enter into eternal rest!” These words resound through my spirit. Thank you Carlos for the laughs, the tears, the passion that poured from your spirit, the discussions we shared about our Lord, and for being a friend that stood closer than a brother. You played a major role in the years Mission Discovery teams served in Juarez, MX.

I’ll see you soon my friend!
