In September 2017 Hurricanes Irma and Maria hit Puerto Rico. Residents on the island endured two Category 5 hurricanes in two weeks. When it made landfall, Hurricane Maria carried sustained winds well over 150 mph. It was the island’s worst hurricane disaster on record. Puerto Rico’s “super blackout” is the longest and largest major power outage in modern U.S. history. Without electricity, there is no reliable source of clean water. School is out, indefinitely. Health care is fraught. Small businesses are faltering. The tasks of daily life are both exhausting and dangerous.

Mission Discovery teams are needed to help restore hope. We will be partnering with local churches and other NGO’s to reach affected areas and assist as needed. While many organizations are ready to move towards recovery and restoration, it will be a slow and lengthy process. We will serve the people of Puerto Rico with the help and leading of our partners.
