Jeremiah: 29:11  11 – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

You are going to change this week.  In Some big or small way, the next few days will have an impact on your life.  Put a different way… Just by deciding to go on this trip you have signed up for a life changing experience.  Like the millions of Christians before you, the choice to follow the call of Jesus has put you on a crash course with God’s plan for your life.  You may feel unprepared.  You might feel scared.  These feelings are normal and usually a sign that you are right where God wants you.  You will have no choice but to trust in Him this week.

Thinks about Moses.

God chose him to lead the people of Israel out of captivity.  He didn’t want the job and thought God had chosen the wrong person.  He practically fought God every step of the way, but in the end he became the leader God knew all along he could be.  Maybe you are in the same position.  Well not exactly the same position.  You probably aren’t leading an entire people group out of Egypt and into the promise land.  It is possible, however, that you feel like you shouldn’t be here and you have no idea why you are on this trip.  God knows, and God has a plan for you this week.

It is also possible that this is just one of many mission trips you have been on.  Maybe you feel like you have seen and done just about everything.  The exciting thing is that whether this is your 1st or 100th mission trip there is always the possibility that God’s plan will surprise you this week.  There is only one way to find out, and that is to experience the week for yourself.

Your challenge for the week is to be open to the possibility that God will dramatically change your life.  Be on the look out for God working in your life and the lives of others around.

Take a moment to sit silently and pray about this week.  Thank God for the opportunity to be here.  Pray that God’s will would be done in your life.  Pray that you would be open to any changes that He might be making in your heart.  Ask God to go before you and walk with you through the challenges you will face.
