Read John 3:1-21

Jesus said, “Change your life. God’s kingdom is here (Matt. 4:17 The Message).”  What does this mean? What difference does this make in the world and in my life? The Kingdom of God is the focus of this devotional booklet. God’s kingdom has been described as an ‘open secret.’ Christians openly tell everyone who will listen about God’s love for them in Jesus Christ. That is the purpose of your mission trip! But not everyone who hears the gospel believes it. Their human eyes and hearts cannot see the kingdom of God. Because of their unbelief, God’s kingdom is a secret they don’t understand.

Christians view the world and life through eyes of faith. We are permitted to see and learn about God’s kingdom (Matt. 13:11). What is the kingdom of God? What are the characteristics of kingdom people? A kingdom needs at least three things: a king, a kingdom, and subjects. Jesus is the King. His realm or kingdom is the hearts of men. His subjects are people who respond to his invitation to believe in Him for the forgiveness of sins and the gift of new life.

Pray and ask God for guidance each day as you read and think about the devotional Bible passage. Ask questions: What is the writer saying? What does this mean? How does this apply today? Write down what you learned. Share your thoughts with friends during the day. Above all, enjoy being a child of the King!
