Read Matthew 13:44-66

Years ago my 5 year old son was with me in a clothing store, when I noticed that he was playfully changing the price tags on a rack of clothing.  I change them back…I think.  But, can you imagine being a customer in that store later in the day and getting that $200 suit for 50 bucks?

When you turned your life over to God, something changed in your heart.  Like my son that day in the store, God changed the “price tags” on the rack of things you once treasured in life.  One of the reasons that you are on this Mission Discovery project today is because God has placed in you the desire to serve people who are close to His heart…the poor!

In Matthew 13:44-46 Jesus explains how valuable the Kingdom of God is, in comparison to other possessions.  At my house I hide the valuable things like my passport, or important papers just in case the “bad guys” break in.  I don’t think Jesus is saying in Matt. 13:44 that we should hide the kingdom from others, but that knowing God is that valuable!

You know, these two men were not faking their excitement for the treasures they found, and you don’t have to fake it either.  Ask God to allow you to see His Kingdom today.

Now, here is the project for today.  Don’t fake it.  If you don’t see His Kingdom in some way today, ask again tomorrow.  Once God really shows you something report it at “God Sightings” that night.
